How to adjust your ditch wthout backfilling or partially backfilling it
9 minutes of trenching,,,,, topic done in one minute, why waste my time for a trench NOT wide enough to compromise a non issue with the machine size you are using
You couldn’t run a hoe like that ol son
Dont make it more than it I s
Good Job !!!!!!
I admire how smooth you are!
That ditch is impressive!
Я машинист экскаватора из России очень хорошая работа коллега!
Backfilling into a snow filled ditch over plastic pipe with chunky soil (vs sand or smaller granular material) is about the worst way to have failed compaction in your water pipe ditch line. Good example of shading, but lousy backfill technique.
Not plastic pipe .steel with yellow jacket coating . don't typically compact steel gas lines in the middle of nowhere.we usually come back next summer about July after frost is gone from ditch line then re contour and spread topsoil.or if it's in a wet area we can't get back to we roach it up and let it settle on it's own.
Oh the deep cheat and pack down😅
That smaller bucket makes for clean edges.. Especially with 12" frozen surface
Any vids on. Reclamation
There are a couple just click on the video tab and scroll down I can't remember what they are called one might be "finding cuts"
Jeep the pipe buddy go ahead chin filmed
This is my job training tutorial videos 😂 Hopefully I get this job 🙏
But can you dig safe ditch just as fast? Digging straight walls is easy.
Of course not safe ditch takes time that wasn't the point of the video.
@manhoer you got a vid on digging safe ditch quickly?
No but a few on digging safe ditch just go on my channel and find how to dig a bell hole
@@manhoer im good, i do both civil and oilfield trenching. Was just browsing through waiting on others to get their stuff done (the slow hoe lol)
where can i find video and info on hot digs
Not sure unfortunately I didn't get the opportunity to make one of those videos
How is this different from a basic jump turn?
Sprinkling snow in there to cut down on steam is one of the most genius tips I've ever heard. Wish I could use it down here in WA where all we get is rain!
like he said, that method works great when the ground is hard. If its soft, you need to pick one track up and walk it off without spinning.
This was huge when I figured this out a couple years ago. Whenever I'm swinging back from my spoils pile I make sure to look at the grade, the changing perspective while swinging almost lets you see your grade in more of a "3D" way
Very helpful can’t wait to try this technique! 👍
Nine minutes of ditch digging and droning on. Bottom line, leave a spot then skip turn out. Skip to 9:00 to see it.
To many accidents on your job site…wouldn’t to work there….I’m a foreman and I make sure everybody goes home to see their family….good luck
Love your vids man.
What ever you do be sure to at least bottom the primer out, even if the primer pocket is deeper. No need for crush, but fully seated to the bottom of the pocket is important. Not some measurement off the bottom of the case.
I'm an older operator and your videos are refreshing reminders of the skills that some of us have developed throughout our careers. It's nice to see the younger generation getting involved. Nice! Keep the videos coming.
Awesome 👌
Thanks you teach me something very helpful.
Hey man just discovered your channel new sub here. Just wanted to say thank you for sharing your knowledge on everything. I love digging with backhoes and excavators but I haven’t spent enough time or had any real training on anything. It’s been a figure it out as you go type thing and I really appreciate skilled people like you willing to teach tips and tricks of the trade. Really appreciate it!
Great job. Would of liked to have seen it with the camera set up outside. I liked how you explained that the ground was really frozen.
That was awesome..only ever been tethered to a dozer once..balls of steel to dig that steep slope! Great vid!
Nice thank you I’ve been a Front Loader for 6 years and ive also used excavators for backfilling pipelines. I just got a call recently a opportunity to excavate pipelines and this vid help also . Im on youtube over the weekend to get set .
Oh man why would you cheat man your making us look bad ! Do it probably if you have a conscious!take pride in your work ! Fu that pisses me off !
Are you serious?
Barry..I always use your vids as a reference..this season I'm doing final clean up..I'm usually on the lowering in or screw anchor crew..so just wanted to refresh myself again..thanks again for these vids!
Good to see you posting again!
Wowee yeah buddy !
Wow amazing!
Them tracks popping sound like arti and explosives in the background lol. You in Ukraine? Lol. Thanks for the video though bro
Awesome.
Sorry but what's a skid? Looks like a 2x to me.. Is it steel though?
No its 3 feet x 4 x 8 inches used to set pipe on when you stack several together
Great tip
👍👍👍
Mind blown dang. Hey what's the new guy doing? He said he saw it on the youtube. Hehe Man this would be awesome to see perspective from outside the cab.
Which controls are better excavator or backhoe???
Most controls now are standard cat control pattern thats what i learned on and what most companies run I prefer this set up.
Great vid! I'd say for someone wanting to practice this on a very easy level try with a trench that isn't so wide and not so deep. I've noticed when the trench is let's say wide as the space between your tracks and deep the pressure is on and can seem scary if you're not sure of your skills and technique.
Bummer the sound cut out
Maybe a connection issue just listend to it seems fine
Awesome man. 😊great stuff.
15 years in the seat , and I’m no where close to that clean . To all that have watched your vids . Thanks man ! Nice work !
Hi Barry, I just found your videos. So great and SO HELPFULLLLLLL. I have watched and re watched all of them. Are you still making videos? Thanks
No I'm retired now
Awesome. I freaking love these kind of tips. I’ve been operating hoe for 20 years but mostly in demolition and crushing scenarios so dirt work gets to be kind of tricky for me sometimes.
saved my ass barry
Dirt not up to spec away from ditch,,that's not up to regulation for safety my frd
Back when this video was made rules were different you only had to have spill back from edge of ditch where people were going in at bell holes and a joint and a half back now its everywhere. Sorry I can't update video I'm retired.
